Boy is this writer way off the mark about Bush....
...I suppose this is what is called an apologists editorial for Bush:

The New York Times

OP-ED COLUMNIST
Sense and Sensibility
By DAVID BROOKS

n weak moments, I think the best ticket for this country would be Bush-Kerry. The two men balance each other out so well.

Kerry can't make a decision; Bush makes them too quickly. Kerry changes his mind by the month; Bush almost never changes his mind. Kerry thinks obsessively about process questions, but can't seem to come up with a core conviction; Bush is great at coming up with clear goals, but is not so great about coming up with the process to get there.

That was the striking thing about the debate on Thursday night. It wasn't so much a clash of ideologies, or a clash of cultures. It was a clash of two different sorts of minds.

You could say it was a hedgehog (Bush) debating a fox (Kerry), if you want to use that tired but handy formulation. But I think you'd be getting closer to the truth if you put it this way: The atmosphere of Kerry's mind is rationalistic. He thinks about how to get things done. He talks like a manager or an engineer.

1. This is the same David Brooks...
who said that the debates were a draw.

He is a squirming, smirking, weinee boy.

2. It is easy to disagree with Brooks and prove him wrong.Bush cannot make up
his mind because he doesn't have a mind to make it up with, beautiful or otherwise.Even cognitive dissonance is wasted on him.

3. Kerry thinks and Bush goes Black and White.
My children and I have always talked about this. The world is gray and their are always two sides to all stories. I am sure people hate to think that way as it means you usually have t think. In a debate you have to know both sides to do it, or so I learned in college.Takes work and their were a lot of people in college that would not do it. I recall once being in a debate where one student would only use the Bible as a book. It almost drove the teacher and class nuts.
