Not well received, apparently, unless it makes the Wednesday edition.
To the Editor:
Mr. Michael Keef's letter of the 11th wonders aloud why Senator Kerry is not considered "against the troops" for questioning the tactics employed in Iraq. It's because questions are what make him a great supporter of the troops.
No matter how sincere our soldiers are about winning the peace, efforts based on inaction or poor command decisions are self-defeating. The Federal Aviation Administration has an acronym for this crash-avoidance process demonstrated by Senator Kerry's questions. It's called DECIDE. It consists of: 1) Dectecting the fact that a change has occurred, 2) Estimate the need to counter or react to the change, 3) Choose a desireable outcome for the success of the flight, 4) Identify actions that could successfully control the change, 5) Do the necessary action to adapt to the change, and 6) Evaluate the effect of the action.
I, for one, welcome Mr. Kerry's questions as critical to successful command decisions based on deliberation and flexibility. And we could certainly use some of both right about now instead of simply standing one's ground, as our President is so fond of saying.

the book of change no doubt. i feel much more confident of a thinking man thinking and not standing firm no matter. in my opinion, this is the major difference in these two men. the shock of 911 spun us all, giving numb nuts authority pushed him over the ledge of sanity, he's drunk on power not unlike stalin et al
