My letter to Bishop Chaput
Dear Archbishop Chaput,

I admire you and I think if you said that you shouldn't vote for either candidate I would understand. But I think that as a good Catholic you have to look at the whole picture. And even if it is just because you want to show the world that the U.S.A.(the people) is not as bad as the administration you should as a good Catholic vote for Kerry in my opinion. The free will issue aside a Catholic should have compassion for the poor, want everyone to have health care, worry about children living in poverty and be against an unjust war.I also personally feel that the best way to change hearts is not to take a political position if you are a man of the cloth. Of course you should advise and make people realize what is the right course to take but a render on to Caesar what is Caesar's approach not only shows the difference between the divine and the worldly but the converse approach projects an Orwellian society.
I respectfully disagree with you and hope you would at least make an argument for all issues of the church in your next editorial.
I remain your humble servant and a humble servant of the church,
Vinnie
