DU This Republican Rag; Endorsed Bush in todays paper
This is a key area of Ohio and our "fair and balanced" newspaper has endorsed Bush. Here are a few nuggets as to the editors opinion on why Bush should be given another four years:

snip

On the two major campaign fronts – the war on terror and the economy – Bush has it right.

snip

Kerry’s record – and that of his running mate John Edward — in the Senate is abysmal. From Jan. 16, 2003, through Oct. 11, 2004, Kerry voted 82 times out of 668 chances.

snip

In retrospect, the president should have articulated better that Iraq was a cog in the process, not the end-all to WMD or a sidestep in this war on terror. Our intelligence should have been better.

Still, Bush stands by his decisions and refuses to cower in a shower of liberal criticism. That’s being presidential.

2. My point exactly!!
Our county is in a critical area of Ohio for a Kerry victory and this joke of an editorial panders to juvenile minds, Joe six pack and the uneducated.

It is my hope DU'ers inundate this editor :dunce: and this rag :nopity: from now till election day!!

3. Yeah seems to just repeat the daily talking memos of the campaign.
That columnist doesn't dig for facts on his own. Just repeats the propaganda. Dangerous kind of writer for a free society.

Your bitter endorsement of George Bush, laden with typographical errors and incomplete sentences, was nothing but recitation of pathetic right wing talking points. I was especially disgusted by your militaristic and dismissive attitude toward our allies that did not join Bush's molecule-thin coalition to attack Iraq. I will quite assure you that Canada, America's closest ally, is glad that she did not send any her sons to suffer and die in the quagmire in Iraq.

Basing your endorsement on trivial and questionable Republican data such as rate of voting shows how poor of a case you have to endorse George Bush. The real data that you should be paying attention to is the largest budget deficit in history and the huge job losses in Ohio. Ohio has suffered greatly in the Bush recession, and your beloved tax cuts to the investor class have done nothing to help the economy here. In fact, the gigantic deficits have created further economic uncertainty and malaise.

I would advise you to look outside the blinders of the patrician class for information to base your endorsements on. Bush is incredibly unpopular in the world and will not be able to lead the free world for the next four years. Bush's economic policy is no plan at all. Our economy is not growing fast enough to pay off his legacy of deficits. It is obvious that Bush does not have the vision, the judgement, or the knowledge to successfully perform the duties of his office.

John Kerry for President! www.johnkerry.com

edit: I left out the appraisal of typos and incomplete sentences.

5. Even my local Texas Paper...
The Fort Worth Star Telegram was a little more objective than this...Is "Dick" Ferrell looking for a job as White House Press agent?

In retrospect, the president should have articulated better that Iraq was a "cog in the process"? WTF?

Newsflash "Dick"...This pResident* is no more capable of "Articulating" anything than you are of writing a column.

6. You'll notice
that the poll re: the 3rd debate shows Kerry winning with a total of 709 votes. Apparently there is a very limited readership for this rag (meaning that endorsement is worthless).
