E&P - Kerry picks up another endorsement (Bush picks up 8 new ones)
Before getting depressed -- a note: All of these were expected b/c all had endorsed Bush in the past. Remember -- we still have TWELVE papers who have switched from Bush to Kerry (and the ONLY one to date that has gone the other way has a "dissenting" opinion filed (PA - York Daily Press).

Editor & Publisher: Daily Endorsment Tally: On a Big Day for Bush, He Snags 'N.Y. Post,' 'Wash. Times,' and Others

It was a big day for President Bush in E&P's exclusive tally of daily newspaper endorsements, closing his gap with Senator John Kerry by every measure.

Bush gained eight papers today, with Kerry picking up just one. The president also nabbed two majors, the New York Post and The Washington Times.

He still trails the challenger in the number of papers backing him, by 59-53, and in the circulation of those papers, 9.5 million to 6.4 million.
....

Tally below has been updated w/ links to new Kerry endorsement:

9. If my guess is right, there remains 5 potential major papers in FL
The Tallahassee Democrat and Naples Daily will probably go for Kerry. The Orlando Sentenial could go either way. I don't know what to guess about Jacksonville or Pensacola's papers but I imagine Pensacola would go for Shrub. Does that sound about right?

10. Oh, please!
The New York Post and the Washington Times???? Don't make me laugh.

Major newspapers my ass.

That is like saying (with a straight face), "George Bush picked up the endorsement of Fox News and Ann Coulter today. These are major endorsements."

... these 2 endorsements = 900,000 newspapers.
