Denver Post Flooded with Letters ! |
|
http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,36%257E416%257E,00.html The Denver post endorsed Bush in a half-hearted sort of way, and received 700 letters in response. Every single one of the letters was in opposition to the endorsement. See link above for a sampling-

E&P survey determined that it sways 5-10% of voters -- in swing states, that MATTERS --and in MOST swing states, Kerry is way way ahead. See http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000684885 for more ...

2. So are the editors of the post then as "decisive" as George W. Bush... |
|
...they too must be living in a cocaine cocoon surrounded by their ultra wealthy friends in Vale waiting for the first really good powder (snow fall that is).

The Denver Post published an explanation regarding why the endorsed Shrub. The Chicago Tribune did this as well. I don't hear of any paper's endorsing Kerry feeling the need to explain themselves. The letter-writing must be getting to them. Great job, fellow libs!

7. How do you explain it? |
|
The Denver Post's endorsement is the craziest thing I ever saw in print.
1. Bush has failed to do what he promised. 2. Bush has failed to do what he attempted. 3. The economy is screwed up. 4. The nation's security is screwed up. 5. His opponent is likely to be better. 6. Bush has taken us in the wrong direction. 7. We can't think of anything good to say about him.
So.....
WE ENDORSE BUSH!!!
What drives men and women to put things like this into print?

8. It's all about the Post's OWNER - Singleton |
|
The editorial board was strongly in favor of Kerry, and the Repuke Bush-Pioneer Singleton basically said "Sorry guys, but I OWN this paper" (also owns the Salt Lake City rag which also endorsed AWOL).
Just like the Cleveland scenario.

9. HE owns the paper in LA that endorsed Kerry.... |
|
Safe bet to make it look as if he was letting the editorial boards make the decisions......
