Intriguing LTTE (Seattle P-I) re victim compensation
I found myself reading this several times over.

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/opinion/196724_ltrs26.html

I am confused. The families of 9/11 victims were each given a stipend of $250,000. Should not we feel a greater guilt for the present victims of terrorists, bleeding on Arabian sands? Are they not protecting our vital interests and political friends? Why aren't Saudi Arabia and Israel sending troops to help us? Why are some of us agonizing over the death of stem cells more than the death of our neighbors, caught in the flash-points of a distant war? Remembering high school Kipling, it's soldier this and soldier that. It's soldier go away, but it's thank you, Mr. Soldier when the band begins to play.

Should our power-seekers compensate true terrorist fighters with the same regard as those getting tax breaks? I am blinded by this dilemma. Is there one among you who will cast a light that I may see?
