E&P Calls it for Kerry

And the Winner Is...'E&P' Predicts Outcome of Race for White House
by Greg Mitchell

NEW YORK Our report last week on how newspaper endorsements could influence the presidential contest in key battleground states proved so popular (despite its admitted flaws) that your editor has agreed to stick his neck out once again and predict a national winner.

This is about as unscientific as it gets, but if E&P doesn’t give extra weight to newspaper editorials, who will? So here’s a state-by-state assessment with the likely overall winner at the end. If this turns out wrong, blame Jayson Blair.

(SEE ARTICLE FOR DETAILS... but here's the call)
NEW HAMPSHIRE: Kerry
HAWAII: Kerry
OHIO: Bush
MINNESOTA: Kerry
FLORIDA: Kerry, "despite the Jeb factor."
WEST VIRGINIA: Bush
MICHIGAN: Kerry
NEW MEXICO: Bush
NEVADA: Bush
PENNSYLVANIA: Kerry
COLORADO: Bush
IOWA: Kerry
WISCONSIN: Kerry
OREGON: Kerry
WASHINGTON: Kerry
MAINE: Kerry

"So what does this add up? A drum roll please…..Kerry by 286 electoral votes to 252 for Bush. But if Florida goes to Bush, he wins, and E&P will never put any weight in newspapers endorsements ever again."

4. Same predictions...
In fact, I got exactly the same predictions... using the last five polls in each state and assuming that 2/3 of the undecided voters finally vote for Kerry. The only question is, what do the polls really show?

This sounds like a medeival suspician, but i think our candidate (don't want to say the name for fear of jinxing it) will win because the Red Sox did.
