MSNBC's Olbermann to Focus on '04 Voter Fraud Tonight and/or Tomorrow
Go get 'em Keith!

==========================
George, John, and Warren
Keith Olbermann

NEW YORK - Here's an interesting little sidebar of our system of government confirmed recently by the crack Countdown research staff: no Presidential candidate's concession speech is legally binding. The only determinants of the outcome of election are the reports of the state returns boards and the vote of the Electoral College.

That's right. Richard Nixon may have phoned John Kennedy in November, 1960, and congratulated him through clenched teeth. But if the FBI had burst into Kennedy headquarters in Chicago a week later and walked out with all the file cabinets and a bunch of employees with their raincoats drawn up over their heads, nothing Nixon had said would've prevented him, and not JFK, from taking the oath of office the following January.

This is mentioned because there is a small but blood-curdling set of news stories that right now exists somewhere between the world of investigative journalism, and the world of the Reynolds Wrap Hat. And while the group's ultimate home remains unclear - so might our election of just a week ago.

6. I sent some articles on the voting irregularities in this election to
a local left-leaning paper, and the political writer responded thusly:

"I'll be blunt with you: I have little patience for the theories that the
election was stolen again. I'll take a look at the stuff that you and a
million other people are sending out, but a cursory scan of it looks pretty
flimsy. Trying to say that exit polls are evidence of much of anything is
pretty weak, in my opinion. Exit polls are not particularly reliable, as far
as I'm concerned. I think progressives would do better accept that Bush won,
and focus on the fact that 51 percent is not a mandate and that the 3
million people who gave him this win can be won back to our side next time. "

So there ya go....
Now what do you expect from MSNBC?

10. From Keith's Newsletter (11-08-04)
------------------------------------------------------
Tonight on Countdown
------------------------------------------------------

Keith blogs.... about the vote count.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6210240/

The election is over, uncontested, non-problematic, right?
Not quite. Some "issues" are bubbling to the surface.

* The Ohio Problem?
Officials in Warren County, Ohio, "locked down" its administration building to prevent anybody from observing the vote count there. County Commissioners confirmed that they were acting on the advice of their Emergency Services Director, Frank Young. Mr. Young had explained that he had been advised by the federal government to implement the measures for the sake of Homeland Security. (Cincinnati Enquirer) http://www.enquirer.com/editions/2004/11/05/loc_warrenvote05.html

* The Florida Problem?
While the heavily scrutinized touch-screen voting machines seemed to produce results in which the registered Democrat/Republican ratios largely matched the Kerry/Bush vote, in Florida's counties using results from optically scanned paper ballots - fed into a central tabulator PC and thus vulnerable to hacking - the results seem to contain substantial anomalies.

Countdown w/ Keith Olbermann broadcasts LIVE at 8 pm et, and the count is never complete without you. Join us.

* The only thing more depressing than potential vote-count problems..... Santa can't get a flu shot.

Nick Pallotto, 62, who plays Santa Claus in malls, turned up at a flu clinic in Colorado Springs and was denied a shot because he wasn't 65 or suffering from a chronic health problem. "They asked me if I was 65, and I said, 'No, but I am Santa," he said. http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2004/11/08/santa_claus_cant_get_a_flu_shot/
He is our guest tonight.

Here are some of the other stories we're working on for tonight's show.

* The fight for Fallujah. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6403689/

* Who will replace John Ashcroft?

13. Hey Keith.....
Nixon did not challenge the 1960 election because his campaign also committed voter fraud in some states....he knew that if he challenged Kennedy then he himself would be open to attack...
