WHITE HOUSE ASKING CITY (D.C.) TO FOOT THE BILL:

INAUGURATION –

WHITE HOUSE ASKING CITY TO FOOT THE BILL:

Ever since the inauguration of Ronald Reagan in 1981, Washington, D.C., has received "presidential inaugural" payments to pay for inaugurations. But not this year. The Bush administration hasn't been known for being tight-fisted, but The Hill reports, "The White House and the District of Columbia government are bickering over the costs of the upcoming presidential inauguration, with city officials saying that they have not received any money" from the White House. White House officials are countering the money was part of $15 million per year of "funding appropriated for the D.C. Public Safety Reimbursement Act." But D.C. officials say that money is not nearly enough, with the police alone requiring $13 million to secure the first post-9/11 inauguration.

1. If the city can't afford the bill for security...
...It should simply not provide any security. See how they like them apples.

Why the hell should Bush get two parties? He's rich enough, let him buy his own robocops and champagne.
