Clark gets the Joseph Wilson treatment
Edited on Sat Aug-30-03 10:11 PM by snyttri
Rove and co. are heading off the amplification of Clark's charge that Iraq was pre-cooked. George will will get play everywhere.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A2468-2003Aug29.html

Clark said he was personally contacted by someone he knows to say it was Iraq on 9/11. Subsequently he learned it was part of a campaign.

As with the smears of Joseph Wilson and the ABC reporter we may find the White House was pressuring CNN.

Bushco can only hear a 4-star general call them liars for a few months before they do something about it.

1. How can you suffer through Will?
If he says Dean has "Deaness", does he think Bush has "Bushiness"?

And Gore "lost" because he sighed? What an ostentacious prig is our chap Will ;-)

5. Hilarious!
That little teenybopper on CNN talking about the quality of Deanness was too much and now even George Will is talking about Deanness.

Howard Dean has already got the rethugs going hysterical and they are scared big time.

"unthinkable"

hahahaha.

2. Who cares
what George Will thinks. He is incapable of thinking outside the box of the GOP. Can you spell "SHILL" George?

Will's undying loyalty to someone who is about 10 levels lower on the evolutionary scale than he is is telling. I always have to laugh when intelligent GOPers bend over backwards to defend their annointed chimp.

Lying about going to war is alright with guys like Will. I am not surprised at all to learn the WH may have put pressure on CNN to fire Clark. Go ahead Bush, piss Clark off by insulting him and calling him a liar. I kind of doubt you really want to have to debate him in 2004.

4. Rove is muddying the charges before they become headlines after
the debates. With the GOP holding the megaphone it will be hard for Clark to shout them down. The whistleblower rarely comes away in good shape. I hope he has some White House names to name. But if Will feels free to to make these charges maybe Rove thinks Clark has no one to back him up. It will be bloody for Clark. I hope he can draw some Bushco blood in the fight.

8. He can't name names -- it makes him look like a snitch.
It's going to come down to his credibility.

How scared they are, that they're already attacking him. I think it's interesting that potato chip lip chose Dean and Clark to attack, and if you look at the tone he adopted towards each man, it's pretty clear which one he is more frightened of. The thought of Clark running would make Will turn a couple of shades lighter, if that were possible.

3. How ridiculous
it is for Will to say that Clark isn't qualified to be president and compare him to Ike. Why doesn't he compare Bush to Ike?

6. So, that's all they got???
They've had weeks, months even, to dig through Clark's dirty laundry, and all they can come up with is a concerted campaign to unite, divide and conquer Clark's statements about the think tank on 9/11??

BWAAAAHH HA HA HA HA! Bring it on.

I truly expected more out of the Rovians. Dare I say this bodes quite well for Clark?

7. The Fox/Franken effect?
Maybe attacks on Clark and, by Will's implication, Dean's foreign policy, will force the media to give Clark more free media time. On ABC's This Week w/Stephanopoulos, Will accused Clark of having a "third-rate mind". I wrote This Week asking that Clark have an opportunity to respond to the charge in an interview with Will.

A professional wrestling-style grudge match could be good for the show's weak ratings.
