Iraqi police run and hide in Mosul...
Insurgents have acquired thousands of police uniforms after officers deserted their posts when rebels attacked stations in Mosul.

About 3,200 of the Iraqi town's 4,000 police officers dropped their weapons and ran off, intimidated into submission by groups of armed insurgents during a 48-hour period, it has emerged.

American-led troops will now potentially face rebels wearing police uniforms making it extremely difficult to distinguish them from policemen. more: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2004/11/19/uuniforms.xml&sSheet=/portal/2004/11/19/ixportaltop.html&sSheet=/portal/2004/11/19/ixportaltop.html

2. Apparently they don't yet appreciate the benefits of freedom. Imagine
putting survival ahead of the chance to die for a government appointed by an occupying army! That's gratitude for you.

3. I'm thinking that 'insurgents' is another term for Iraqi citizens
and maybe the police are defending their country against invaders?

5. Partisans in Police Uniforms.......
"They all look alike to me!" Every person in Iraq will now run the gauntlet, everywhere they go. Who is that man in the official-looking uniform? You can bet your ass he's not your friend! Bushco has screwd the pooch, royally!
