I was looking through some of the past weeks letter to the editors. This one struck me as funny...and to the point.

A monopoly on dysfunction

"As part of his second term in office, President Bush wants a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage. He and his conservative Christians feel it is needed to protect the sanctity of traditional marriage. According to government statistics, half of all marriages end in divorce.

Speaking from a committed 18-year relationship, and even though I cannot get married, it's OK with me if conservatives insist on retaining the monopoly on dysfunctional relationships."

18 years, I bet that beats most of them, congratulations.
My grandfather was never accepted but he was the best man I ever knew, so kind, so loving, a wonderful human being.
