Many Who Voted for 'Values' Still Like Their Television Sin

The results of the presidential election are still being parsed for what they say about the electorate's supposed closer embrace of traditional cultural values, but for the network television executives charged with finding programs that speak to tastes across the nation, one lesson is clear.

The supposed cultural divide is more like a cultural mind meld.

In interviews, representatives of the four big broadcast networks as well as Hollywood production studios said the nightly television ratings bore little relation to the message apparently sent by a significant percentage of voters.

1. Damn right
The "values states" have the worst statistics on divorce, child abuse, rape, incest, petty crime and so on ad nauseam. However, Mass. has the LOWEST divorce rate in the US and the murder rate is almost five points lower in New England than it is in the values-ridden South. Time to start calling the fucking hypocrites on their crap.

5. "the message apparently sent by
a significant percentage of voters" is a media creation. The people watching reality garbage are a more accurate representation as to where people's so called values are.

6. No Surprise to Me
Remember the study about a year ago on illegally downloaded (stolen) music files? It showed clearly that folks are stealing Christian music at the same rate as Heavy Metal. The Christian-Supremists were beside themselves! They just couldn't believe that Christians were just as big a set of thieves as non-Christians.

Wake up and smell the hypocrisy! I learned a long time ago that If you really wanted a hot date, go to church. That's were all the over-sexed women are.

I hereby baptize you with the sweat dripping from my nose.

7. Value voters are hardly a majority.
White evangelicals were 27% of the electorate. People who listed values as the number one issue were 22% of the electorate. And since then, everybody has been acting like they're a freaking majority, and should have some sort of majority influence. It's bullshit.

8. By and large
I think we are about the most hypocritical nation ever to smear the earth with the imprint of our heel. Far, far too many of my "countrymen" say one thing and do the other. Gimme an honest sinner over an overrighteous blowhard anyday.
