Is the War on Terror Banishing from the Bush Agenda 11/26
But while Iraq and Iran may top the list, you hear almost no talk - at least at the moment - about Washington's "war on terror" against al-Qaeda.

After an election in which the fear of an attack hung over the campaign, there is now little discussion over whether the US is winning or what victory might look like.

1. Yep, we are being set up for another attack sometime next year.
Our illustrious 'leaders' will be too busy concentrating on their neo-con corporate imperialism to bother with reading memos warning them of an impending terror threat. Just like last time.

2. Early next year. Very early.
Right now the CIA is in flux with the new leadership and the staff changes -- read, purges -- besides which we have the multiple cabinet changes. Great window of opportunity, for there will be several months of 'settling in' for the new people, just like in the first 8 months of 2001.

They will let it happen again, and say, 'We couldn't stop it, because the new people were not up to speed yet. Terrible coincidence, that.'

3. I read (somewhere) that the plan
is to concentrate now on the domestic issues to make sure of Bush's legacy. They want to completely redo the "welfare state", ie, medicare and social security, and oh yes, the tax code with only income from jobs being taxed. Rove is said to have said "don't bomb anybody, at least not right now" (other than Iraq, I guess he means).
