BUSH GURU GETS WORLD'S WORST JOB Nov 28 2004

By Paul Gilfeather Political Editor

FALTERING Tory leader Michael Howard has been thrown a political life-line - from the mastermind behind George Bush's victory in the US election.

The shock signing of Karl Rove is all the more amazing as President Bush's right-hand man banned Mr Howard from the White House just three months ago. The highly-rated strategist discussed the Opposition leader's fading General Election hopes in a trans- atlantic phone call this week.

And during his talks with party chairman Liam Fox he agreed to bury differences over the Iraq war and draw up Mr Howard's masterplan for the May poll.

The development will stun Tony Blair, who is certain to feel betrayed.

2. The fastest way to get screwed by BushCo
is to be a partner. Sorry Tony, just bidness.
Maybe if you could sing like a Soprano.

3. Hoo, hoo, hoo, ha, ha, ha -- I just can't stop laughing...
This is downright Shakespearean in the depths of the betrayal.

Remember when Tony Blair spent some of his own dwindling political 'capital' last month by sending the Black Watch to Fallujah for the sake of Bush's reelection?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Maybe if you just 'compromise' with them a little more, Tony?.....

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

4. These Guys Are INSANE
Not to mention unprincipled. Why any of these people would do any of the things they have done already is beyond my comprehension, but this takes the cake.

If BushRove wants Blair out, all he/they have to do is whistle, and throw a biscuit.

9. So Bush's only ally is about to get reamed by Bush's personal hatchet man?
And this is the White House that supposedly puts a premium on "loyalty"!

11. Believe it when I see it
This seems more conjecture than anything else. It came from a Sunday tabloid and wasn't picked up anywhere else.

What is sure is that Howard has signed Lynton Crosby, the evil genius who has taken a Aussie right-wing PM John Howard to 4 straight velection victories.

Given that the Uk and Australia both operate a Westminster style of government and that Rove's way of operating is so attuned to distinctly US modes, I think Crosby is more danegrous than Rove.

13. Good luck, KKKarl. Only 47% of Brits believe in God.
And I suspect that a solid majority of Brits think you're a turd.
No blossom, just a turd.

14. I wouldn't underestimate the power of greed, fear, xenophobia
and other Rove franchises, especially with Murdoch running the London Times.

15. Well, I never subscribed to the Karl Rove = Evil Genius theory
I think he's evil, but not a genius, and I don't think his brand of theocratic bullshit will work in the UK.

But it's just a theory, and I can only hope I'm right.

17. don't worry
A former colleague of mine is married to someone who is fairly high up at the electoral commission in the UK.

He gets REGULAR updates on the BBV shenanigans from yours truly! (and he hates Bush and Blair, too) ;)
