Killing Sheep With The Click Of A Mouse?
SEATTLE - I'm hoping it's nothing more than a sick joke.

I'm hoping the whole thing is just some whacked out way to get the attention of gullible people like me, because I don't want to believe that someone is interested in actually killing an animal on-line.

That's what "Live-Shot" is offering: the chance for someone to sit at their computer and operate a pan-and-tilt mechanism that has a rifle mounted on it.

It's the brain fart of some guy down in Texas.

2. It's true
live in big game country (not Texas) but fellows here have heard of this.

It's a private reserve with game not indigenous to Texas.

Pretty sad...

3. I'm not an animal rights activist.
In fact I'm not anti-hunting though I don't hunt myself. There's just something that doesn't seem very sporting about this.

Couch potato hunting.

7. "Sporting"??? No hunting is "sporting".
A sport is when both sides know they're playing.

I don't hunt, but I have absolutely nothing against responsible hunting. It takes a great deal of skill and patience, but it's not "sport".

8. I think we're arguing semantics here
Whether it's sporting or not I have a low regard for any kind of hunting that doesn't take an effort whether through a computer or sitting in a pickup truck guzzling beer while waiting for game or even baiting game as some hunters do. To me a real hunter will actually stalk their game. I think that gives the animals more of a chance and requires more effort on the part of the hunter.

That's what I mean by sporting.

9. Agreed. Hunting deer with a knife would be sporting.
Hell, I'd even consider hunting them with a spear to be O.K.

5. Oh, sorry, thought you meant 'killing sheeple with a mouse click'.
No, I am against the automated killing of animals by mouse. What is next along that line? U-operate it, slaughterhouse robots?

What I am really really waiting for is for the DOD to go automated in Iraq. Can't you see it, all the righteous-right-to-lifers paying good money to cruise robots around Iwreck popping off at the locals. Man would the repubs pony up the bucks for that one. Besides, would put the war on a paying footing.

Probably will be run by haliburton.

Of course, if'n it was 'kill a sheeple', well, that does the planet some good.

6. I've heard about this "Live Shot" thing..
Edited on Thu Dec-02-04 09:58 PM by Heyo
... right now you can just shoot at targets...

But I am all for them letting you shoot live animals over the net as long as they let the gun swing all the way around to the building where the people who run the place work, and the parking lot where they park their cars. If they do that, I'll sign up myself, and no animals will even get hurt.

BTW: I am not against hunting.. well.. no.. I guess I am personaly against it myself, I would never kill a defenseless animal.. but if people choose to hunt, especially if they are eating the meat, I have no problem with it for other people to do.

I say if you have any balls, go out there yourself and bow hunt. Don't sit in a tree stand with a high powered rifle and a scope....and if you kill an aminal, at least eat it, don't just kill shit for no reason....

Just my opinion, sorry if I offended any hunters.

:dunce:

10. I'm sure the NRA will defend this silliness
While the majority of true hunters - people who actually appreciate the sport of hunting - will condemn it.
