Rescue news hidden
http://www.news-journalonline.com/03LettersIndex.htmRe "President aids barred bodyguard," article, Nov. 21:
How predictable that the news of President George Bush's rescue of his
lead Secret Service agent from Chilean security officers was buried in
a one-column "In Brief" snippet on Page 16A on Nov. 21!
I can only hope that at least some News-Journal readers were fortunate
enough to see the headlines and six to eight sequential photos
reported on Drudge Report via their personal computers.
The full story showed President Bush looking back with puzzled
expression, then leaving the party of dignitaries -- alone -- and
walking back to where his agent was being detained. Reaching through
the crowd, over shoulders, he grabbed his agent, reportedly saying,
"He's coming with me" and escorted him back to the official building.
When was the last time we had a president with that kind of fortitude?
I fully understand News-Journal sentiments are decidedly liberal and
Democratic, but that shouldn't affect news value of happenings that
every American has the right to know.
I'm prouder than ever of the caliber of man we have in our Oval
Office. I believe he embodies the kind of pioneer spirit and bravery
of our forefathers who created our America.
I ask The News-Journal please to stop hiding the positive events that
occur.
SONYA R. GORDON, Ormond Beach
Thankful for rescue

How fortunate we are that President George W. Bush won re-election.
But for his prompt intervention, who would have rescued our Secret
Service agent in Santiago, Chile?
