Silencing the Vote: Baltimore Sun: must read this!
Edited on Fri Dec-10-04 12:32 AM by Liberty Belle
Finally! A major newspaper has run an editorial strongly suggesting that Bush "won" by fraud. This December 9th editorial is written by David Lytel, a former Clinton administration insider who has formed an organized called ReDefeatBush.com. Here are a few choice excerpts:

"...the key differences between here and Ukraine are the methods of fraud and the passivity of the news media. Here the party in power used unverifiable computerized voting to boost its totals and intimidation and misinformation to suppress the vote totals of its opponents, but the news media hasn't investigated it."

He chastises the media for not covering recount efforts and suspicious actions, such as Warren Coutyn, Ohio locking out the press during vote-counting, claiming Homeland Security had advised them to do so. He reports mysterious rises in Bush votes in places with Diebold equipment and tells of counties with more votes than voters.

"All of these "glitches" and "irregularities" nationwide and not one improperly credited vote to Mr Kerry?" Lytel asks. "What are the chances of that being random?" He calls for an investigation, citing a Harris Poll which, if extrapolated to the population
overall, indicates that 30.3 million Americans don't trust the legitimacy of this presidential election!

"We oppose faith-based voting," he concludes. "Unless we act, the
nation wlil get the same result in 2000--no investigations, no indictments, no convictions and more fraud. We suspesct that if the votes had been tallied honoestly, we would be preparing for the inauguration of the candidate who authorities with a huge stake in the outcome tell us lost the election."

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/opinion/oped/bal-op.electoin09dec09,0,3131082.story?coll=bal-oped-headlines

FYI, Redefeatbush.com, Lytel's new organization, is organizing protest marches and a counter-inaugural ball. The group is also seeking to organize local chapters and is looking for leaders.

13. How do you make a link with words not the whole URL?
For those of us who are technically challenged. ;-)

16. A quick guide...
When you go to type a post, there are two links in the section
titled, "Message options" - "HTML lookup
table" and "Smilies lookup table".

The "HTML lookup table" is where you would find the
information, but I have reproduced it here:

HREF link with text display
[link:URL|Text]

URL is without the "http://".

Example: [link:www.dcscripts.com|DCScripts]

I hope this helps. :)

Note: I checked the box titled "check here if you want to
format your message in plain text." because I wanted you
to be able to see the actual code. Otherwise, you would have
just seen the link to "DCScripts".

17. Cool! Thanks. I'll give it a try.
But that only work in this forum, right? Do I still have to type the long URL first, then convert it? Sorry to be dense, but I don't quite understand. If I want to create that sort of link elsewhere is there a simple way to do so?

20. When you say "in this forum" what do you mean?
Do you mean:
a) a link TO this forum
-or-
b) a link to any web page, but the link APPEARS in this forum

Okay, here is how you would do the link from your original
post.

First, type [link:

Then add the copied URL from the page you are linking to, like
this:

[link:http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/opinion/oped/bal-op.electoin09dec09,0,3131082.story?coll=bal-oped-headlines

Third, add |Silencing the Vote] at the end. The
"pipe" is sometimes hard to find on your keyboard.
Mine is shift + "\".

The last thing you need to do is remove the
"http://" from your copied URL. When you put it all
together, it should look like this:

[link:www.baltimoresun.com/news/opinion/oped/bal-op.electoin09dec09,0,3131082.story?coll=bal-oped-headlines|Silencing
the Vote]

Of course, you don't have to type "Silencing the
Vote" for your title - you can put whatever you want.

I hope this helps!

7. can't access the Baltimore Sun link
Is anyone else having this problem? For two weeks now, everything "controversial" that's been written in the MSM press and listed in Yahoo gives an "access forbidden" message when I click on it. (this includes article in the Guardian about exit poll/election outcome discrepancies, coverage of recount procedures. etc.) Tonight I tried the Baltimore Sun article both through Yahoo and in the link above, and could not obtain access. Is someone blocking these articles intentionally? Please advise...thanks, Hannah

like google. (Google gives to Dems, I've heard!)
It could be your server blocking access. Call and complain!

15. Turn off the "snooping" feature in Yahoo!

For your information ...

>> Take a look at their updated privacy statement:

>> About half-way down the page, in the section on cookies, you will
>see
>> a link that says web beacons. Click on the phrase web beacons.
>> That will bring you to a paragraph entitled "Outside the Yahoo
>> Network."
>> In this section you'll see a little "click here to opt out" link
>that
>> will let you "opt-out" of their new method of snooping.
>>
>> Once you have clicked that link, you are exempted.
>>
>> Notice the "Success" message on the top of the next page.
>> Be careful because on that page there is a "Cancel Opt-out" button
>> that, if clicked, will *undo** the opt-out.

25. That's the point
We are responsible for feeding Keith Olbermann and like-minded journalists with leads. We are the ones pushing and clogging e-mail servers at major networks. We are the ones making trouble for the world of faith-based voting. I offer whatever encouragement I can to these efforts, many of which start here at DU.

He had the support. Bushco did try a fear tactic in which he said only He could protect us and at the same time redistribute taxpayer monies to the rich. Many sheeple did buy that. Masochists.

investigate this top to bottom.

Someone without a stake in the outcome. Although seeing as how the US is fucking up the entire WORLD I don't know who that would be.

it's not one problem we have to deal with, it's two.
the fraud, and a complicit media.
even if the election is called into doubt or even the inaugural cancelled -- the right wing controlled media will still be a ghoul needing to be banished.
