Pentagon: 5,500 U.S. Deserters in Iraq War!
http://informationclearinghouse.info/article7452.htm

WOW! DOUBLE WOW!

How come we dont' hear about this?

I often wondered that, given the Iraq's war total illegitimacy, we weren't getting Vietnam style desertions and refusals...we are...it's just being covered up, just like the photos of the dead coming back.

After years in Iraq...now they tell us that thousands of U.S. servicemen have deserted...talk about manipulation of information.

Manufacturing consent, folks...

1. Seems like maybe I've heard of 5-10 at the most.

2. They could look on FreeRepublic for evidence that the ex-soldiers
would be persecuted.

His clients will have to prove that, if they are returned to the United States, they wouldn't just be prosecuted for what they did -– they would be also be persecuted. How will House make that claim?

The whole war is immoral - they should all quit:

Wasn't he supposed to follow orders? "I was told in basic training that, if I'm given an illegal or immoral order, it is my duty to disobey it," says Hinzman. "And I feel that invading and occupying Iraq is an illegal and immoral thing to do."

4. An inordinate number of bad asses are deserting or leadership has failed
wholly and miserably. Which one is it?

5. Wow.
But Felushko says he didn't see a connection between the attack on America and Saddam Hussein.

No, that can't be true.

7. the number floating around is a 36% increase over 1999.
Frankly I wouldn't believe numbers that did not indicate an increase in desertions during a war like this.
