Paula Zahn's hubby "evicted" the hawks...
and I just sent a note notifying CNN and Ms. Zahn the following:

"This is just to let you know I will not be watching Paula's show anymore. Even though I realize it was her husband who "evicted" the birds, it's just too cold-blooded, hard-hearted and cruel a thing do. There's too much heartless mentality in this world at present, and this is inexcusable.
I cannot have any respect for her now, only total disgust and repulsion. It's actions like this that really show what a person is "made of."
Fair or not, guilt by association is a real thing. So, as far as I'm concerned, short of an very loud announcement that she tried - strenuously - to stop this, I will change the channel when she's on."

Apparently - thank Goodness! - the birds have found a new home, (Suite Revenge ) So, that's good this story didn't have a totally tragic ending.
I'm not a radical bird person, but this was just plain cruel behavior and I really think she should have to accept some consequences. Agreed?

If you choose to do likewise to notify CNN of boycotting her, please compose your own message rather than a cut-paste of mine - not that mine is all that articulate anyway, but duplicate messages completely lose their effect.

1. What's funny
is that American Morning on CNN was getting down on the owners of the building all morning. They said the building's address over and over almost encouraging people to go by and protest.

2. I agree. Nice letter!
Of course, I stopped watching Eva von Zahn once I saw her salivating at every chance to support Bushco.

4. Thanks ... alas -- don't they all?
If I stopped watching those that swoon over W, I would have to just about give up on television news - barring maybe Olbermann and Rather (who "they've" successfully eliminated). How can they say we have such liberal media? I can't find it!
But since we can't get them for biased reporting, maybe we can cause them at least a little pain :spank: when they show their colors in such a heartless, nonpolitical way!

5. i think the hawks will survive & nest elsewhere
don't know how thrilled i'd be to have hordes of bird watchers staring at, photographing, & filming my living room (bedroom?) window, sunrise to sunset, for years & years. i'd like SOME privacy & access to the view i paid for, you know?

eventually they had to go elsewhere. there's got to be another ledge that fills their needs.

the rationales are pathetic, though. "pigeon carcasses" are freaking you out? you should be grateful they're killing those flying rats.

6. What a sad viewpoint!
I have to say I feel sorry for people who don't cherish the wonder, beauty, and innocence in nature. To me, it would be a total joy, and watching the happiness and wonderment of the people who came to see the birds would also be a happy thing. But -- alas, to each his own.
However, if the birds really had to be moved - after 11 years! -- then I think working with the Audubon to perhaps come up with a more amenable solution rather than the heavy handed, Scrooge approach that was taken would have been more prudent, both for the birds' sake and also avoided all this horrible publicity and blemished reputations. Well, guess those residents have folks looking at them now, don't they! lol
