P.U.-litzer Prizes 2004 CNN Guy Calls Air America - Communist Radio
Particularly disgusting the exchange on Imus aka I'm An Ass In The Morning Show - but so many more...

by Norman Solomon
There are media awards of all kinds, but none so foul and smelly as these.

The P.U.-litzer Prizes were established a dozen years ago to provide special recognition for truly smelly media performances. As usual, I've conferred with Jeff Cohen, founder of the media watch group FAIR, to sift through the large volume of entries.

And now, the 13th Annual P.U.-litzer Prizes, for the foulest media performances of 2004:

MANDATE MANIA: Too many winners to name

OUTFOXING FOX PRIZE: Jack Cafferty, CNN

As co-anchor of CNN's morning program, Cafferty had something to report on March 31: "It's a red-letter day here in America," he said. "Air America, that communist radio network, starts broadcasting in a little while." Cafferty was unyielding when CNN colleague Soledad O'Brien responded by saying that the new talk-radio network was not communist but liberal. He replied: "Well. Aren't they synonymous?"

1. Cafferty is a cantakerous rethuglican ass
He needs some sort of release (possibly sexual) or maybe he is just constantly constipated. Let's all send him some Metamucil.

5. yeah, he's a nasty old mean spirited fart ...
the MSM is so damn asinine to think that sick old crone would be considered the least bit amusing by mainstream America.

These MSM ba*tards will end up screwing themselves over with their own arrogance. Not even the average mindless American sheeple likes to experience his tired old rant each morning.

By the way Bill Hemmer is looking old(er) ... how bout getting us women a younger "cutie pie" for eye candy in the early morning? <eg>

6. This stuff reminds me of what GLAAD does.

GLAAD is the Gay Alliance Against Defamation if you didn't know.

Every time someone in the media does something blatantly homophobic the issue press releases, and fax blasts, and letter writing campaigns and they support people who show positive portrayals of homosexuals in the media.

We need to get people fired for saying such inflammatory things about liberals!

We need a website that rates media pundits on anti-liberal bias. I guess maybe this is a project for Media Matters for America.

Equating liberalism with communism is hate speech. And it has no place on a National TV "news" network.

Part of the way the Republicans win is by cowing the press, we need to push back and get someone notable punished for smearing liberalism.

2. I was part of a group some years ago that gave out "Pullet Surprises". . .
for the most chickenshit reporting we could find. These days I don't think we'd have enough time to cull through the candidates, let alone winnow them down to a favored few.
