Dean’s anti-war stance not so bad a platform after all
http://www.nashvillecitypaper.com/index.cfm?section_id=40&screen=news&news_id=26244

It was supposed to make George Bush invincible and Howard Dean unelectable.

Not so fast.

The war in Iraq is not turning out the way the punditry predicted.

The number of deaths from the peace has now exceeded the number from the war. The dollar outlay is no less stunning. One billion dollars a week is what this so-called "peace" is costing us, and that is, by most accounts, a conservative estimate. The end is not in sight. The country is in shambles. If we leave it that way, they'll hate us even more. Having begun the mission, we have to finish it. Five years to rebuild the country, again a conservative estimate. Do the math yourself.

great stuff in this one :)
