Loose Lips Sink Ships - LTE to Mpls Star Tribune
Edited on Wed Dec-29-04 08:19 PM by dflprincess
I have trouble understanding people who think like this so I just had to "share" this letter with all of you:

http://www.startribune.com/stories/563/5158607-2.html

Watch your tongue

When Americans criticize the U.S. military effort in Iraq, surely they consider the likelihood that Iraqi insurgents are listening. Surely they realize the insurgents will continue to fight as long as they feel they might wear down American resolve to engender democracy in Iraq.

It's crucial to realize that each article or letter that encourages the insurgents contributes to the misery and deaths of U.S. soldiers and the Iraqi people. The sooner the insurgency stops, the sooner the United States can begin withdrawing without leaving Iraq to dissolve into chaos.

xxxx, Maple Grove.

1. Apparently the author of this LTE
didn't hear about the French journalists that told how the insurgents just love Bush 'cause he is a recruitment dream!

3. Yeah, well, then I guess I hope what I post does give the Iraqi's resolve
to liberate their own country from the imperialist warmongering United States. If someone was occupying the US, I'd be fighting just as hard as they are and would hope to get support from other countries too.

At this point, it's whatever works to get us the hell out of Iraq.

4. just wait til it ends in court......
the damn war is illegal, even bushinc admits that, and the entire mess is a creation of the US...someday, the US may have to reimburse Iraq, including every one of the families who lost members in the illegal mugging/theft/robbery aka 'war'. If the US had any sense, it would get out asap and try to limit reparations to the next 2 or 3 generations instead of next 8 or ten....bushinc is a criminal organization, nothing more, but every US citizen is unfortunately resposible for bushinc's actions
The only other choice is to throw out very idea of international law, and live entirely by laws of the jungle etc.....

5. Unfortunately this thought process
isn't uncommon. I read a paper that gets lte from 3 military bases and lots of retirees. If some of these folks were in charge, there would be a Guantanamo for all of us US dissenters. These people are just plain scary!

7. Too bad that we're not "engendering democracy in Iraq."..
just engendering chaos and death.

8. yes, the insurgents read all of the ltes in all the papers in the US
to determine when, how and if to strike. Ohh boy - a letter in the startribune shows support is waning... lets attack today. Oh no, a letter in the sacramento bee supported the troops lets call off todays attack.

what ridiculous logic behind this letter.

9. That is just what I was going to say
You know those insurgents are all just sitting around their computers Googling for LTE's. Of course their computers are being powered by some new form of electricity generated by camel piss cause they sure aren't getting much from any other source.

10. Scary thing - is how illogical (and easy to refute) the rw talking
points are... but how many people accept them and start spewing them out without their brains clicking in to say "illogical, illogical"... *sigh*
