15. THANK YOU, MORON!
Thank you, President Moron, for bankrupting the U.S. economy in four short years; I can only imagine what you will do in the next four years. Thank you, President Moron, for sending almost 1400 young Americans to an untimely death in an unnecessary war based on your lies and the lies of the incompetent members of your administration. Thank you, President Moron, for permanently maiming over 10,000 young Americans for oil and greed. Thank you, Mr. President, for single handly approving the end of the Geneva Convention and giving the thumbs up to torture and abuse of prisoners of war. I am sure captors of future American prisoners of war will thank you. Thank you, President Moron, for destroying the good will of America around the world again, in four short years. Excuse my manners, have I forgotten to thank President Moron for anything? Feel free to add to my list.

37. THANKS!
I come from Ohio - how could I forget about all of those "Moral Christians" who came out to vote for Issue 1 - an issue specifically placed on the ballot by the "impartial" Secretary of State/Bush Cheney '04 Ohio Campaign Manager Kenneth Blackwell to discriminate against gay couples in the State of Ohio? Thank you, President Moron, for changing Ohio from the "Buckeye" state into the "Bigot" state.

4. Looks like Operation Mockingbird is still in effect...
Edited on Mon Jan-10-05 03:01 PM by EVDebs
The CIA will pay normally respectable journalists and respected individuals to do their dirty work for them.

http://www.prisonplanet.com/analysis_louise_01_03_03_mockingbird.html

In this case spread disinformation. Carl Bernstein's Rolling Stone article from Oct. 1977 "The CIA and The Media" needs to sorely updated, but alas no one will step up and do the work out of fear...

The fascist overthrow of the US government and the constitution, first attempted in 1932 but prevented by USMC Gen Smedley D. Butler, has been achieved. We are living under martial law but refuse to face the facts.

Amazon.com should be promoting books like Jonathan Kwitny's "Endless Enemies" to show the true effects of Bush's policies ! The blowback will be more like a hurricane.

27. Here is a link to Bersteins article
http://www.class.uidaho.edu/mickelsen/Media%20Readings/Berstein%20-%20CIA%20and%20the%20Media.htm

and another author, same topic: http://www.independent-media.tv/item.cfm?fmedia_id=10183&fcategory_desc=Under%20Reported

The Mainstream Press: “Journalists on the Payroll”
Other sources have also disclosed that the CIA has and continues to employ media personnel. An article by Brandt states that, “Star-News learned from an "authoritative source" (Colby) that the CIA had some three dozen American journalists on its payroll” during the 1980s (Brandt 2). A section of another of Brandt’s article further illustrates the payroll overlap:

The Times reported that over the last twenty years, the CIA owned or subsidized more than fifty newspapers, news services, radio stations, periodicals and other communications facilities, most of them overseas. These were used for propaganda efforts, or even as cover for operations. Another dozen foreign news organizations were infiltrated by paid CIA agents. At least 22 American news organizations had employed American journalists who were also working for the CIA, and nearly a dozen American publishing houses printed some of the more than 1,000 books that had been produced or subsidized by the CIA. When asked in a 1976 interview whether the CIA had ever told its media agents what to write, William Colby replied, "Oh, sure, all the time." (Brandt 5)

Thus it would be fair to conclude that the media and the United States government have sent, and continue to send, paychecks to many of the same recipients. Therefore loyalties to both organizations exist amongst their shared personnel.

Ann Coulter's book "How to Talk to Liberals (If You Must) is even worse than that one. No wonder she hates liberals so much, apparently the only people she talks to are conservative. But another book that looks good is "Kids Letters to Bush". I looked at it at Barnes and Noble, and some of them were pretty funny. For example, one girl offered the President to read to him. I doubt the letters are real, but it was still funny nevertheless.

hahahah!

"I received this book as a gag gift after going to a Christmas Party. It was given to me by someone who is very Pro Bush. After accepting their gift, I graciously gave them my gift which was a copy of Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 (now a People's Choice Award Winner). After reading (and trying to stomach) the content, I called my friend and asked if she had watched F 9/11. She said she did and she loved it. She asked me what I thought of her gift. I told her it makes interesting bathroom reading material. I wouldn't buy this book if someone paid me. I just wonder how much the Bush Administration gave to the author to write this book (much like the Armstrong Affair). Buy this book if you want a reminder of this lame duck president, if you want a informative and uplifting book, purchase "My Life" written by a REAL president, President Clinton."

Edited on Tue Jan-11-05 10:39 AM by ktowntennesseedem
Thank you for those wonderful tax breaks. My family and I were able to "biggie-size" our combo meals at least twice. I wish it could have been more, but I'm glad the wealthy got more since they will be able to do more good and help more people than I ever could.

Thank you for keeping me safe from Osama, Saddam, the boogie-man, and all them other evil-doers out there. I sleep so much better at night knowing we've got such an easy-to-understand color-code to let me know how much to worry. And thanks for the handy tips on duct-tape (that tax break helped me afford the extra large roll; you can never be too prepared!)

Thank you for helping me buy my house a couple of years ago. I know you were personally responsible for lowering the interest rates, and fixing things so I could afford the mortgage. Some would argue that I am a homeowner because I have worked my ass off for the past several years, but I know I couldn't have done it without you.

Thank you for not leaving my children behind in school. I'm sure they would have flunked out by now had it not been for your generous support of this vital program.

Thank you for the wonderful job you are doing to rebuild Iraq and plant the seeds of democracy in the Middle East. Iraq is such a shining example of the compassion of the American people; it's wonderful to see the Iraqi people (the one's still living, anyway) shower us with so much love and appreciation. I look forward to seeing these efforts duplicated throughout the region!

Thank you for building so much support throughout the world for America. You did such an admirable job to build on the world's compassion and good-will following 9-11; we are looked up to like never before!

Thank you for the wonderful job you are doing to ensure the future for my children and for the generations that will follow. The debt we are growing will ensure that they are heavily taxed and allow them to appreciate all their government does for them. (Since I already appreciate my government, taxing me is not necessary, so again, thanks for the wisdom in cutting my taxes to teach future generations!) Can't wait to see how this whole Social-Security things works out; I just know I'm gonna love it!

I could go on, but the battery on my super-deluxe "Sarcasm-5000" devise is getting low. I'd better stop before I start typing what I really think.

22. Yes, I'll chime in with a great big Thankew
Thankew so much, Little Boots, for bringing so many more millions to their knees in prayer, not just at night, but in the morning. Every night I lie awake, agonizing about the catastrophes you have created in this world with your bloody schemes, and I pray to the loving Universe that they may whack you up the side of your head with a karmic lesson you'll never forget. Also, every morning before I turn on my computer to check out what's happening, I pray that Air Force One, with you and all your evildoing cronies on it, has vanished into the Bermuda Triangle, never to be heard from again because everyone on it has been swallowed by the forces of darkness in the ultimate Twilight Zone.

Yes, Little Boots, you have done what even the mightiest preacher on earth could not do, you have returned me and millions of my brethren to the power of prayer. So when our beseeching prayers are gloriously answered, when you are stricken with affliction as punishment for your heinous deeds, Thank Yourself!

23. I might write my own "Thank You 'President' Bush" book...
It would have over 1300 pages, and each page would look something like this:

Thank you, "President" Bush

From the family of Sgt. Warren Hansen

And the best part is, with each new printing, there would be more pages added! All thanks to those clueless fucks running the country now, the shit-for-brains media who sold these pricks to the American public, and the assholes that bought it.

74. I think
you're onto something here. Something like "never-ending story",
the ad will look something like this:
<satire on>

Read page after page after page of the glorious sacrifices for our all knowing, never ever wrong god-commander in chief as he proudly exclaims from his fortress on the hill that 'freedom is on the march!' See before and after photos of our rapturous reformation of Iraqistan! Relive shock and awe of the righteous crusade that transformed ancient mosques into reusable concrete shards and finely ground dust! See our corporate brothers wisely use the billions of dollars entrusted to them to promptly paint schools and give lollipops to the children of grateful fallujians upon their return to the new and improved falluja! Rejoice in knowing that before our glorious leader freed Iraq, 80% of the population was burdened with electricity and indoor plumbing, whereas now those same burdens have been lifted from 60% of formerly unfreed people! Thank you Mr. President for "bringing it on" and enlightening the world to your magnificence!

<satire off>

When will people awake from their complacent slumber? Is there a threshold number of body bags (or as Rummy likes to call it "transfer tubes"); children living in poverty; nameless numbers of uninsured families that awakens these folks? If so, haven't we reached it yet? Bah.....
I'm done ranting.

I'm also not buying anything from amazon.com again.

I suspect that a lot of the reason these people wrote the book is for personal gain, to gain favor with Bushco. Look at how Bushco showers favoritism on their loyal minions. Loyalty (including lots of ass-kissing) and being part of the "Good Old Boys Network" takes precedence over everything. They're all trying to gain favor with King George.

Seriously. Aman Verjee. Interesting fellow. When Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 came out on DVD, he was offering his book to anyone who would trade in their copy of the DVD. You still had to pay shipping and handling, natch.
Alas, it was a little story, so it's no longer on my newspaper's Web site. But it mainly centered on the obvious question -- what person who goes out and buys F 9/11 is actually going to trade it in for your book? He seemed convinced that a lot of people would. Whatever.

They serve NO useful purpose except spitting out unwanted children who grow up EXACTLY LIKE THEM because they've been taught hate and bigotry. Have you forgotten? Fucking inbreeders...

55. Click around more...it gets weirder
...if you spend more time clicking around at her website, you can find someone from a site called junkscience.com, which seems to have problems with the reality of global warming and DDT pollution, along with regulating pollutants and genetically modified food. Very scary.

I've been lurking for years, but this is my first post. Hi everyone!

57. Phyllis Schlaffly has got to be the most dangerous woman
in America. After reading your link, I have to say I'm rather shocked at this woman's bio. I've known sorta who she was, but have never read her bio until now (Masters from Harvard??? No way!!).

After perusing her column archive, here the more disturbing ones:
* She actually believes title IX has eliminated male wrestling in most colleges and universities
* She believes there's some sort of "feminist conspiracy" to feminize all boys
*Managed to defeat passage of the ERA because it, among other things, would: "would have rendered marital laws unconstitutional".

For heaven's sake!!!

62. Wasn't Phyllis involved in the "English-only" movement
back in the 70s? As a jibe at the "growing Hispanic menace" they proposed changeing all the Spanish-named towns to the English version. What a laugh! San Francisco would be "Saint Frank." How butch - tee hee. I think the idea halted when they found out Sacramento translated into "Very Bloody" or something like that.

Haven't heard much from/about her lately, other than this crazy book.

Oh yeah and she credits herself as single-handedly "defeating" the Equal Rights Amendment, and has devoted a section of her website to a "Read How She Did It" kind of narcissistic self-shrine.

Fucking freak.

For giving us people who no longer can tell truth from fiction.
For giving us a world where war is peace.
For giving us a world where freedom is slavery.
For giving us a world where ignorance is strength.

66. What a smackdown to Poppy Bush
From the Inside flap

How a man even many conservatives derided five years ago has become the greatest conservative champion—from missile defense and gun rights to economic reforms and abortion—since Ronald Reagan himself.

Ouch
x(

And here's some nice ironies they apparently missed:

From the cover:

With George W. Bush's convincing victory over John Kerry this past November, this book offers an indispensable look at his bold plans to continue implementing an agenda of compassionate conservatism.

I thought it was called Thank You, President Bush. Are they saying Thank You for what your going to do to us. Are Americans now fraternity pledges who should bend over and say, "Thank You Sir, I'd like another"

Also from the cover:

Thank You, President Bush brings together the nation’s leading conservatives to offer a thorough, hard-hitting look at Bush’s leadership.

A hard-hitting look at something is generally meant to expose it's weaknesses as well as it's strengths. How could this be a "hard-hitting look" when (according to the cover) - Rather, it is a thought-provoking, highly-readable look at the achievements of President George W. Bush.

The description of this book would have been as accurate to say - "And this book slices, it dices, it juliennes". :eyes:

But then again when was false advertising a hallmark of the right. Even calling them the "right" is false advertising; they rarely ever are.

Okay I'll stop now.

67. Ugghh - check out the pics at the bottom of the cover...
specifically the fourth from the left.

Since this book is sooooo insightful and full of truth, surely one of the asskissers...uh propagandists...er...contributors (yeah, that's it) will point out that the toppling statue was a military staged photo op?

"Our Leader" billboards and now this - Goebbels would flash a thumbs up.

68. They'll laugh out of the other side of their mouths when...
...the full extent of the damage the Bush administration has done is evident. You'd think they'd have noticed by now what his policies have meant just in terms of bloodshed, but what is that when there's a reception at the Heritage Foundation or an inauguration party? :puke:

Debts, death, short-sighted policies, handouts to the greediest corporations, alienation of the entire Western world, contempt for those who struggle, and an ego without a cause -- that's our 43. GOD HELP US.

to go down in history as the greatest president who ever lived, and says we will "celebrate this great man's birthday" for the rest of time. Says this with straight face.

for the wonderful job you're doing in Iraq. Thank you for lying your Ass off to get us there and thank you for wisely forgetting about planning and "end-games" and ensuring we'll be there a decade or more it we're lucky. Thank you for flattening Falluja so that we can pay Halliburton to rebuild it so we can flatten it again when all the freedom fighters.. er.. insurgents come back from every other town and city you dispersed them to.. thank you for turning the entire muslim world against us so that we can spend billions on an "Evil Empire" that will last centuries and wont crumble away like those idiot Soviets who only lasted 70 years or so..
