A Second-Term Retreat?

Will George W. Bush spend the next few years backing down from the ambitious strategy he outlined in the Bush Doctrine for fighting and winning World War IV?

To be sure, Bush himself still calls it the "war on terrorism," and has shied away from giving the name World War IV to the great conflict into which we were plunged by 9/11.

The sad thing is, these people believe this nonsense as gospel. There's no debate to it, you're either with them or against America. Like some other, earlier people, who sought a thousand year reich for their fatherland, these ninnies hope to get us so far up the shit creek with various wars that the average American will be too terrified to do anything else but lean over the side and start paddling. The world will not stand for this and neither should a majority of Americans. This is a recipe for the annihilation of the United States if ever there was one.

In the near term, far from being an obstacle, perhaps the left should let these dogs run as far and fast and quickly as they can. Maybe they'll run out of leash before the next election and get their asses yanked back for all to see during a presidential election. It may be our only hope.
