What, Metro worry? Times shrugs off porno partner

The New York Times Co. is shrugging off the link between a freebie newspaper it's buying into and a Swedish porn purveyor that telecasts skin flicks across northern Europe.

Times Co. spokeswoman Catherine Mathis denied the company's plan to buy a 49 percent stake in Metro International's Boston daily would put the Gray Lady in bed with Modern Times Group - the porno-pushing parent of Metro's empire...

1. More background
Just an FYI. Boston Herald is a fairly pro-bush, pro-war, etc. paper that is ONLY running with these stories on the Metro buyout (and as front page one's at that) because the Boston Globe (a New York Times company) is it's big rival in the area and the Metro is also circulated in Boston.

So there's more to the story...
