Loss of middle class bodes ill for nation
Kentucky is pretty reactionary, so it is good to see something like this in our paper.

http://www.kentucky.com/mld/heraldleader/news/opinion/6705531.htm

With the focus of the economy moving from the middle class and directed toward the upper class, we are beginning to see a marked stratification of American society.

It has, in the past, been an accepted truth that a prosperous middle class is strategically important to the survival of our republic. But trends that began a decade or two ago and that are now emphasized by the Bush administration's redistribution of wealth to the upper class are beginning to widen the gulf between what used to be the affluent middle class and what is now perhaps best understood as the upper middle class.

It is still a rarefied place where incomes far exceed what is necessary to fulfill the basic needs of a secure existence: adequate medical care, access to affordable housing, some assurance of being able to finance children's education and the hope for a secure old age.

1. Good article. True words.
I'd ask do the Busheviks realize that, by snorting up the Middle Class, they are weaking the long-term future.

Then I realize that, the high of snorting the Middle Class is so great, you'd have as much chance convincing a Cokehead of the similar personal obstacles they are throwing up in front of themselves...

Out Monkeys-Snorting-Cociane are rtoo blinded by the white-hot rush of power and $$$ to give a shit about anything else.

4. Sure they do
If they are paying half of us to go Soviet on the other half...does anyone have time to go French Revolution on them?

Think about it.

3. Wow! Love the ending!
<snip>
Thomas Jefferson was of the opinion that a revolution may be needed quite frequently. Perhaps that is overstated, but the sentiment bears consideration.

I thought maybe I was reading the World Socialist Web Site for a second! I agree wholeheartedly -- we should be openly talking about how to reclaim our government, our peace and our economy.

5. It gets to me that the stupid freeps fall into the losing class and yet
they support the idiot that is ruining their lives. They believe people like you and me are hurting them and yet Bush holds the knife that is in their backs not us.
