James Madison Woodrow Wilson Jimmy Carter
On a more personal note: It saddens me to see how some have viewed Jimmy Carter. He is one of the last truly honest politicians to win the presidency. Especially since I believe that the Reagan team, especially George H.W. Bush may have sabotaged him with the hostage crisis. His post-president record has been truly admirable, calling for human rights to be observed and supporting such causes as Habitat for Humanity. President Carter, we salute you.

2. Carter was ineffective |
|
Morality does not determine a president's worth. Clinton was morally bankrupt, but an effective leader. LBJ was corrupt to the bone, but his accomplishments cannot be denied, even in the face of Vietnam. Carter may have been "one of the last honest presidents," but big deal-- his ineffective governing gave us Reagan and both Bushes.

5. Jimmy Carter refused... |
|
... to meet with the traditional Native American leaders from North America at a time when it was very important in regard to protecting their lands. It's easy to point fingers at other countries for oppressing their "minorities," and to make a display of your religion in public, but it proved far too hard for Carter to find the moral strength to sit down with Indian leaders, much less stand up for them!

Of all Presidents, Jimmy Carter was by far the MOST CHRISTIAN. He walks most closely in the path of Jesus. He now dedicates himself to peace. Former President George Bush Sr dedicates himself to oil drilling and gold mines.
The fundamentalists don't want to admit that Carter was BY FAR the most Christian president in our history. This only highlights that they worship a false god, Supply Side Jesus.

7. James Madison is first for me |
|
After reading about the man I have to give him top honors. He guided the Constitution Convention delegates with the creation of the Constitution. He is known as the "Father of the Constitution." Washington, Adams, Jefferson, and Monroe all respected and relied on Madison to provide interpretation of the Constitution. Madison took copious notes during the convention. Madison did his homework before the convention to research different forms of government for the pros and cons.
