Tim-May (G.E.RUSSERT) Talking 'bout Us on MtP |
|
Edited on Sun Jan-11-04 09:57 AM by UTUSN
Chuck TODD of "The Hotline" said that there are internet people probably typing away RIGHT NOW as they are watching MtP and that we HATE the media. Immediately Timmay said, "AND occasionally somebody who doesn't agree with them jumps in there and THEY ARE CALLED 'TROLLS' !" He now said he looks at these blogs and quoted T.S. ELIOT (Fascist) as saying, "Immature poets (do ?), mature poets STEAL."

They should be. Maybe when they realize its their jobs that are at stake, since they do not give us the real news and what is going on, they will change their tune. www.brvardforclark.com

3. It's Incomplete (I was typing) |
|
G.E. was comparing us to the "immature poets" half of it (with the verb missing from it).
But G.E.'s eyes were smarting while he was talking about bloggers. Betcha it has been called to his attention that he is MWO's leader in the Whore of the year sweeps. I hope MWO has an actual presentation ceremony.

7. Immature poets imitate |

Mature poets steal.
Eliot was playing off the idea that immature poets imitate, while mature poets innovate. Rather, he sees "innovation" as a transformation based on previous works; it's really just a clever little reversal, where "stealing" is a more sophisticated form of imitation. See his famous essay "Tradition and the Individual Talent."
You, hypocrite lecteur! - mon semblable, - mon frere! - T.S. Eliot, "The Wasteland" (obviously drawing from Baudelaire's "Le Fleur du Mal")
