"Reclaim America for Christ" |
|
OMFG... :eyes: I can't remember what channel it was on the TV but there was some idiot questioning the Constitution of this country. He was ranting about how xtians in this country were being "persecuted" and "denied their rights". Ummm...excuse me?! Its enough that we're getting religious fanattics in the WH now this idiot is claiming that xtians are being "persecuted"?!
I had to change the channel because I was about to drive my foot through the tube. But I have to wonder...what is this country going to be like within the next 5 years... :eyes:

2. it's going to be just like the RW nuts want it to be |

Unless we stand up and stop them. All it should take is us being able to shout them down -- because volume is all they have on their side. We have the Constitution on ours.

4. They Don't Care About the Constitution |
|
The Constitution doesn't matter to these people, and not only do they have volume they control the government and have a hand on the media as well.
Shouting only works if you can be heard, and as long as the fanatics have the money and control Washington we will never be heard.
This means that another way must be found, the same way that the Founding Fathers won their freedom from England. Yes this should be only a last resort but it has to be considered.

3. I'm sick and tired of these Christian idiots claiming persecution |
|
I'm Christian (and not one of the idiots) and I see no persecution of Christians happening AT ALL in this country. If anything, I see a group of obnoxious ones forcing their religion down the throats of others.
But i think therein lies their complaint - they want to make all the school boards to be made up of born again Christians who follow Pat Roobertson, and when it doesn't happen, or when they're told that they can't tattoo the ten commandments on the foreheads of kids when they enter kindergarten, they claim they're being persecuted. Which of course they aren't, they're being kept from doing something illegal - but they can claim persecution.
And if even if they aren't being persecuted, making the claim is a great way to raise money from your people and make a big brouhaha. How better to get one's people rallied - to say "Hey - folks - let's get born again Christians in the government" or to say "Hey - folks - they're trying to make our religion illegal, we have to get involved in teh government!"
Anyway, they offend me. There are so many groups that actually ARE being persecuted and marginalized in our country, and Christians definitely aren't one of them. I've never felt it, and I've been involved in the church since I was a child.

I have had it up to HERE with them giving those of us who follow the teachings of Jesus a black eye. God has a very special place for them.

5. The real Christians ARE being persecuted |

They are being prosecuted, jailed, and their "rights are being denied" for practicing their belief. http://www.soaw.org/new/article.php?id=540

7. If any one deserves to be persecuted |
|
Wouldn't be the Falwells and Robertsons?
Are they being persecuted and denied their rights?
No. Therefore there is no evidence of persecution. Just more 'Chicken Little Hawks' going around claiming the sky is falling.

Doesn't Pat Robertson have some big time interests in diamond & gold mining in African countries, which he coincidentially also has jet aircraft assigned to deliver Christian aid to? I wonder what's in those planes on the return trip?

8. Another example of RW tactics |
|
claiming persecution when there is none. They've done this with the media, higher education, liberal "political correctness", and religion to name a few examples. The RW'ers have been extremely successful in taking their pet issues and claiming victim status on every one. They run out legions of spokespeople chanting the message over and over and over again, and at some point the message begins to sink in and become institutionalized.
They've actually been pretty successful at it. When we talk about persecution of the ideology of the left, we're usually labeled as whiners, paranoid, or ignored altogether.

10. Whether it's a Christian theocracy or a Muslim theocracy |
|
It's all the same. Putting faith in preachers with power. Notice I did not say God.
It is men(or women)that will run any theocracy and it is men(or women) that we should not trust.

But I know for sure that I would not want my pastor running a government. I wouldn't want a Robertson or Falwell either.

13. Are the words "Jesus" or "Christ" mentioned in the constitution? |

I dont think so my misguided friend. The founding fathers were deists, not neccesarliy christians. I wish that you R wingers would get that through your skulls!
