Should Daschle resign and let O'Neill run? |
|
O'Neill could move to South Dakota, run as a Democrat, then become minority leader.
Finally there would be some leadership against Bush*

just cuz he's saying less-than-nice things about Bush today doesn't make him a Democrat.

6. Heh. Maybe not O'Neill but I certainly see the need for change. |

Timid leaders not needed in these rough times.

7. Of course ONiell believes there is no need for social security or medicare |

that all people (even those on minimum wage) should be able to save enough for retirement and medical emergencies.
He has integrity, no question.
And while he is pragmatic in a policy sense, and believes in bipartisan (the give and take of ideas that lead to better formulated policy), his starting point is very right leaning laisez faire (little government involvement.)

Your point is well taken. This guy is the worst Senate minority leader in my lifetime. Talk about inside the Beltway. He blew it forever with the 2000 elections, and has been invisible since. Gawd, can't the Dems do better? Anybody, please.
