Media ignoring O'Neill; is it like the Trent Lott story?
OK, media isn't exactly "ignoring" the O'Neill story, but is blowing it off, again showing their elitist inside-the-Beltway mentality. They did the same thing with the Trent Lott - Strom Thurmond story, and I was flabbergasted that they missed it, when I first heard it. Over time, the story grew "legs." The Paul O'Neill story has been pretty much dissed on the Sunday shows and in the Sunday papers. Have they missed one again? Can we keep the heat on, as happened with Trent Lott?

2. Still getting good-sized coverage in Canada
Edited on Sun Jan-11-04 05:03 PM by Newsjock
It's been the top story every half-hour that I've checked CTV NewsNet, including now. They're just rebroadcasting the American report from ABC, but it's at the top of the news, not buried.

On edit: Just checked CNN Headline News, and here it is, only two minutes into their half-hour as well. So it's not being ignored as much as, say, Lott was.

4. well, it didn't help that he's been squeezing sour grapes since he left
it sort of dilutes his credibility.

Rich people don't like the sort of embarrasment he received over his departure.

5. It's going to be on 60 Minutes...
... that's a very high-profile show. Just about every middlebrow family watches it, and a lot of those are still in the dark about Bush.

6. Rove wins again: Packers-Eagles on against "60 Minutes"
You are right, of course, but hopefully the Packers-Eagles game won't keep most of America away from the interview (hey, big football fan here, but let's talk priorities).
