Fox, CNBC report a Treasury Dept probe of ONeill's papers |
|
that didn't take long, did it?
apparently, they're going to see if he did anything illegal in taking sensitive documents with him
Fox will have a full report at the top of the hour.
you should have heard the GLEE in Shepard "Hit and Run" Smith's voice as he announced it
wonder if they'll appoint a special counsel to investigate.
is this where the media will concentrate now, instead of ONeill's words?

I would guess O'Neill anticipated this angle. Let them investigate. They very well may end up wishing they hadn't.

15. Exactly. O'Neill's been around the block, as has Suskind. |
|
They and the publisher will have thoroughly vetted this angle.
But hey, let them call all the attention to this they want.
Stupid SOB's.

O'Neil is already gone. They need to prevent further damage.

Folks I told you this was the end.
They are desparately grasping at straws.
After all of the diversions attempts this on boils down to "Please, try not to notice what we don't want you to see"...

14. No, they're justifying it with the Bush sound bite |
|
1. "I appreciate former Secretary O'Neill's service to our country"
2. "We're coming out of the recession and that is good."
3. "Everything changed on 9/11"
4. "My administration has always been about regime change"
5. "I did the right thing"
"No more questions, please stay in your seats while the presidents exit."

16. you heard his response, then? |
|
didn't it strike you as rambling, pretty much incoherent, though clearly rehearsed?
he really lost it when he tried to list some of the Iraq ops that they'd instituted....he even started listing em, then realized he couldn't remember them all, then quickly changed course
too funny

17. Bush was like Mariah Carey right before the meltdown |
|
But it's not all bad news. There was a fluff report yesterday in which Vicente said he planned on taking him to his favorite baby goat restaurant.
There's a new job growth opportunity for Fox's vision of a "Borderless North America"...Baby Goat Drive-Thrus.
"I'll have a baby goat, an order of Freedom Fries and a vanilla shake to go, please."
I'm guessing that after Bush and Fox go out for baby goat they'll come home, braid each others' hair, toast some smores, and stay up all night telling scary stories.

13. Asscrotch has gotten his marching orders - |
|
get the documents in lock-down. They will cite "national security" in order to squelch any revelation of these documents. And then they will go into "de-constructing O'Neill". Maybe Paul will be charged with visiting under-age websites or something. They'll get him with some trumped up charges. Mark my words.
I do think, however, that O'Neill is trying to distance himself from this bunch by coming out with this book. He's no dummy and I don't believe, as some here, that he is doing this because he suddenly found a conscience. I think O'Neill is in a CYA mode right now, perhaps because he knows that some serious shit is going to hit the fan soon. After all, he was privy to intelligence info and his connections run deep.

...and then they gave him what he asked for"
When O'Neill provides names & dates for his "document checkout" it's going to be a very, very, very short "probe."
Yee-ha.
