Powerful message about Global Warming (Global Warning) Stream

Comment: I didn't know that Leonardo DiCaprio was involved with this and I didn't really like the guy, but I have a whole new respect for him.

We all need to accept responsibility for what we are doing to this planet.

1. Yeah, I don't like the guy's acting or his roles either,
but living here in LA you hear what sort of person the actors are. DiCaprio is a very decent sort. Drives around town in a Honda Insight. My daughter was waiting at a bus stop next to the Starbucks in Old Pasadena right near my office, and was feeling a bit annoyed because her blouse was a bit more revealing than she had realized, and she kept getting ogles and leers. Then a young man walks by, cap & sunglasses, but good-looking young guy. He gives her just a friendly nod, and she thought, "now that's how guys should act!" and smiled back at him. A week later she was leafing through some magazine that has 'star sightings' and here's a picture of the guy, same clothes, captioned 'as spotted in Old Pasadena', and it was DiCaprio. Her reaction was like mine - don't like the roles or the acting, but he seems a very decent person. Waddya gonna do. There's some actors out there whose abilities and roles I really enjoy, but who are really awful people. Leonardo's the reverse, I guess.

2. I have to admit that I've let myself be prejudiced by his lame roles..
but as a decent person (from what I can tell) he seems to be. I've had the same misconception about Alec Baldwin, Sean Penn, and many others.

As far as his activism, I didn't realize that he was that much into. I commend his "progressivism."
