Will the Big Dog call Bush on his I-raq war lies?
Bush is now claiming that he was just following Clinton's lead on regime change in I-raq.

Will Clinton step up and set these liars straight???

I hope so.

Discuss.

1. Clinton did make an abortive overture of serious war with Iraq
Edited on Mon Jan-12-04 06:05 PM by jpgray
I believe his heralds for the affair, Defense Secretary Cohen and Madeline Albright, were rebuffed with jeers when they made noise about it. At Ohio State, I think it was?

edit: The pressure was from the same folks, but the difference is with Clinton the invasion wasn't a foregone conclusion.

2. No
He has too much class.

The problem with Clinton was that he always thought that if he played nice, the Rethugs would play nice as well.

But he needs to realize that all conservatives do is take. They don't give a damn thing.

If you offer a conservative anything, he will take it, spit in your face, and take your wallet.

3. If Clinton doesn't, he has lost my support.
Once and for all, he needs to stand up. It will count now.

7. Yes, but Senator Clinton was then First Lady
and not the president (someday maybe but...).

Bush specifically mentioned the Big Dog's I-raq policy - not Hillary Rodham Clinton's policy.

5. Forget it
Clinton won't say anything - he certainly has had plenty of opportunity to blast *, but comes out lukewarm now and then with some ineffective message. And don't forget Hillary went for the war hook line and sinker - it's the DLC. Remember Clinton founded the DLC

8. Clinton believed in it, he just got _blown_ off course.
This seems to be the major reason that most of the dems in congress didn't make a big hu-hah out of the run up to war.

12. Some believe the ML scandal was a reaction to his refusal to invade
I believe the timeline matches up interestingly.

11. will ANY of the dem leadership call bushco out on the lies?
or will the opportunity to act like an opposition party slip away again?

not holding my breathe on this one. too much of the dem leadership actually supported the invasion to speak out now.
