Is there a bigger story in the 19,000 documents ?
Than the one about Bush planning to invade Iraq 10 days into his term? Do you think this is the worst that is to come out? i personally doubt it. I think there are other big stories ready to break. I think we may see some documents about Osama and offers to the Taliban and secrets about Afghanistan? There is more to come. If Bush and Rove think they can stop this book, they will do so on "national security" grounds. That would not surprise me. Neither would it surprise me if they attempt to regain all those documents from Ron Siskind and O'Neill. First of all, they have to figure out who else they talked to that was in those meetings...because Suskind said there were "several" anonymous sources besides O'Neill. Nothing disturbs this secretive clan more than this.

1. re: those anonymous sources
What do you want to bet there's a major witch hunt going on right now?

Will there be a Stalinesque "purge"?

God I hope so......!!!! :bounce:

2. There's gotta be enough for 10 major stories.
I wonder what's in there about the 45 million we gave to the Taliban in Summer 2001.

4. Was he part of Cheney's Energy Commission, do you think?
He worked with Cheney for a long time. It'd be pretty good to find out who was on that commission.

10. Betting that they
will find these 'leakers' before they find the Valarie Palme leaker. But if they get fired too then they can write their own books. Maybe they are finally getting caught in their own web.

8. I Think I Now Believe That O'Neill Has Served Notice
Edited on Mon Jan-12-04 07:31 PM by Beetwasher
This 60 minutes interveiw was his coming out party.

That bit where he was acting all "Huh, me be attacked for telling the truth?!" was classic.

The the mention of all this documentation, 19,000 pages on CD rom was a message to the admin., loud and clear.

"I got the dirt and it's coming out. Come after me, I don't care, it's coming out anyway, I'm not afraid."

Now, PREDICTABLY, the admin. lashes out vindictively and the Treasury dept. is let loose on him to investigate thus really illuminating the entire incident.

Oh, this is going to get good!

15. Bushco is getting awfully shrill over this
When the USA PATRIOT act was rammed through Congress, all the Republicans defended it by saying, "if you're not doing anything wrong, you've got nothing to worry about."

They are clearly worried.

Damn, would I ever love to see those docs....

20. Of course....
there's lot of info on POPS and his thugs that he wants protected. Remember, this gang stops at nothing..However, buy the book(s) before the gang has them pulled from the shelves as they've done on Hatfield's book. Buy a couple for gifts.

Isn't it funny that today it gets announced that bush (and Clinton)
will be questioned? I would not imgaine that O'Neill is some fool without legal representation. This could get really interesting!

23. C.I.A.
may be some of the anonymous sources. Saw them on C-Span re: the Valerie Plame affair and they were flat-out furious about what the administration had done. I thought then that they would try to find ways to undermine Bushco.
