O'Neill, an Ellsberg for our times?
Ellsberg in his day leaked the Pentagon papers. By the time he was found out the deed was done. The rest is history.

O'Neill steps forward now, his papers released, by the time he is found out the deed is done.

In the future O'Neill and Ellsberg will be looked upon as heros of their times.

IMHO.

1. Difference.
Nixon committed a crime. This administration is only guilty of being bloodthirsty (oil lust). One is a crime, the other disgusting.

3. Nixon's crime (s)
had not been revealed at the time. Nixon's hoods committed a crime breaking into Ellsberg's psychiatrist's office in an effort to discredit Ellsberg.

I am going by memory. That was a while back.

4. Actually, the situation is very similar...
The big revelation in the Pentagon Papers was that the Gulf of Tonkin incident was a fabrication to justify the escalation of the Vietnam War. O'Neill is saying that the war on Iraq was planned well in advance of the fabricated stories of WMDs that the chimp used to justify his illegal invasion of Iraq. Very similar deceptions.

By the way, Lyndon Johnson was President during the time of the alleged Gulf of Tonkin incident, although Nixon continued the escalation of the war.

6. Fnn Patriot!!
O'Neil, for all his skeletons, is a real Statesman! One of just a few I've ever had the pleasure to see.

May he live long and prosper in his new endeavor!

7. Don't O'Neill's revelations make it all the more likely
that Bush knew in advance of 9/11 and was prepared to use it as an
excuse to attack Iraq?
