Here's a quote from a discussion group I visit and the discussion is about AWOLbush's failure on 9/11.

Rightie now claims :I'm saying that Clinton had the information about terrorists using airplanes as missiles for 5 years and didn't do anything about it. I'm saying that Clinton didn't do anything about terrorism during his terms in office in response to specific escalations in terrorist activity against us. The threat of foreign terrorists in the US prior to 1993 was almost nil.

You could also point out the fact that there were CIA operatives in Pakistan on Clinton's orders ready to go in, but the coup led by Bush's buddy Musharraf ended that plan.

Clinton was hindred every step of the way in his fight against terrorism by Republicans saying he was focusing too much on one man in the fight against terrorism.

6. Clinton anti-terror efforts

They blame Clinton for EVERYTHING!!!!!

This isn't news. But what I do recall is that Clinton didn't have "threat levels". Clinton admin officials never advised people about duct taping their windows with plastic. They just caught terrorist, thats all we heard about on the news.

I'm under no illusion that Clinton personally caught terrorists or directed anti-terrorist operations. But he DID allow them to do their job. He didn't insist that EVERY operation was funneled through the white house. The exception is when Clinton also put certain Saudis off limits for investigation.

What we saw in the early days of the White House was Clinton admin appointees STRENUOUSLY warning the Bush Admin about terrorist threats. They recommended a consolidation of intelligence information under one umbrella organization. They were IGNORED.

After receiving specific threats regarding terrorists plotting to hijack planes John Ashcroft starting flying exclusively on private charters. Then after receiving such serious warnings, Bush went on the LONGEST presidential vacation in US history.

The look on Bush's face when he's told about the SECOND (he was told about the first plane before leaving the hotel) 9/11 plane is priceless. At one moment, Bush is conferring with his intellectual peers regarding a comical goat, the next moment he finds out that the limited strike he seemingly WANTED turned into a MAJOR strike.

Of course then George went and hid. Cheney seemingly had a major heart attack since he was nowhere to be found for 30 days. Remember the scenes from Dave with the comatose president under the White House. Thats where I think DICK was recovering from his heart attack.

8. Attacks on LAX and Seattle Spaceneedle stopped

Another thing I find interesting is that after the OKC bombing April 19,1995 we did see the rage turn inward. We did not see the hunting down of the militia's and the right wing religous fanatics who funded and housed McVeigh. We,as a nation, grieved and treated it like it was a crime. Note-we got very lucky in catching McVeigh (scum) as he did not have a license plate on his car other than that he would have diappeared into the wilderness and protected by the same people who supported him.
