Anyone else catch Letterman's comment last night?
During the monologue he started talking about Bush* (paraphrasing - but the punchline is right): "..wants to go back to the moon and build a space station which will be used as a base to launch people to Mars... You know what this means? He's drinking again!"

2. I saw that.
For a while there Dave was going all wobbly on Shrub. But, he seems to have snapped out of it recently.

3. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
That was a good one, I wish I'd seen it! Poor Dave better duck and cover, though, or at least not take any trips on a small plane anytime in the near future. What was the audience reaction?

4. You know what this means? He's drinking again!"
Also meaning that junior doesn't drink any less than he use?

Like a type of gad fly that is irritating to humans and acts as a provocative stimulus.

10. Here's a link.
<snip>

Bush shot back with "It's about time you had the heart to invite me," an apparent reference to Letterman's recent bypass heart surgery.

Amid boos from the audience, Letterman shook his head: "You're winning delegates left and right, governor."

Leaving that joke, Letterman brought up one of Bush's many slogans: "You often say: I'm a uniter, not a divider. What does that mean?"

Without hesitation, Bush continued to goad Letterman: "It means when it comes time to sew up your chest cavity, we use stitches as opposed to opening it up." The remark produced more boos from the audience.

He's simply expanding upon his policy of outsourcing American jobs!

THIS is an indication that he's been drinking!

11. Letterman used to have a drinking problem
He's talked about it on the show. For many years he claimed not to drink at all anymore but I'm not sure that's still the case.

Regardless, Letterman drunk off his ass would be a much better president than a sober GW Bush.

But whatever in the world makes you think Dave's drinking again now? I see nothing to lead me to that conclusion.

12. The other day someone came out and used the word "alcoholic"
Meaning, of course that Bush was a "reformed" alcoholic. I was rather surprised because the media usually "skirts" around the issue - never actually using the term "alcoholic."

This was not someone who was insulting Bush. It was someone who wrote a semi-neutral book about Laura Bush.

14. A good joke on Late Nite too
Something like this:

The Mars lander Spirit discovered a black gooey substance on the surface of Mars.

If it turns out to be oil, there are some little green men who are about to get their butts kicked.

By the way, I think all of the writers for these talk shows are watching the polls. You can tell that Letterman and his writers are not fans of Bush, but they ease off when Bush gets a pop in the polls are is being identified in the national concsiousness with America (like after 9/11, during the invasion of Iraq, and the spider hole thing.)

15. I'm glad the space thing is being ridiculed
I was happy to see Kucinich start smirking as soon as he heard his question was about it, and when they showed the audience they were all smiling too.

Ideally Bush would get laughed out of his State of the Union if he brings it up.
