What being a Democrat means to me
I was sitting hear reading posts.Thinking to myself what it meant to be a somewhat liberal democrat.I am first amazed at the knowledge and insight so many on this board have.It stuns really.I go to other political sites and have noticed the democrats are much more articulate, informed and passionate without being zealous.
To me being a democrat boils down to basically *this is really a rather simplistic view but hey its 2:30 am * is this society is only as strong as its weakest members. As a society we have a moral obligation to seek out nurture and comfort those in lesser situations then us.I see this train of thought resounded daily with in this web site. The boycotts against wal-mart for bullying its labor. The outrage at the "prescription" drug bill passed *that really is a big give away to drug companies*The caring concern those on here that show our military to the point they want to send carepackages and suffer outrage our fine men and women are serving without the proper equipment.I see the need to strengthen our weakest shown by the people here in worrying, lobbying and actively seeking ways to better educate our children.I see the need to protect by alot on here the environment.Done for the betterment of all .I see more religious values displayed here by the compassion shown to those in need. Its heartening. It empowers me and emboldens me in my Liberal beliefs.Hard thing to be liberal now.I`ve been referred to by my in-laws as "you people" traitor Democrat etc.Its so demoralizing to be called unpatriotic if you have a dissenting opinion about the war.To be called a whack-o because you think Bush and Co are the nearest thing to the anti-Christ.The face mockery on TV radio newspapers everyday. To be told your party doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell in winning white house or any election.Thank you all for the haven and sane ,calm *well sometimes lol * and always interesting place to kick back and dwell for a bit.
I am also aware too of the conservative views. It seems to me conservatives wrap themselves in the flag and God .I see the reason for this is because deep deep down they know their views are so indefensible they choose icons that are untouchable. Thanks for listening to my rant. However thanks for showing the caring compassion knowledge with great skills!!

1. Nice post
Not easy being a liberal progressive in this country today given the greedy criminal-idiots who have a majority of Americans snookered.

Sometimes winning isn't as important as being righteous in your convictions.....know what I mean?

Welcome on board!
