Question about Move On and the Hitler ad |
|
Flipping through the channels last night I caught a bit of Scarborough talking about Move On and the Hitler ad. The ad was being shown while he talked about it and at the end I noticed something odd. In the last frame of the video, it said "Sponsored By MoveOn.org". Now I don't recall seeing this on any of the ads when I viewed them on their website, so I was wondering if MSNBC 'doctored' the ad to further implicate Move On? If they did wouldn't this be false and misleading to doctor the ad in such a way and therefore a criminal act? Just curious, did anyone else see this and shouldn't we raise hell about it if they did 'doctor' the ad to make Move On look bad.

2. This was not a trailer |
|
it was part of the video in the last few frames. It was in the lower right side in big red lettering and in a font that fit the style of the video.
If you have a link to a video with the trailer that you mentioned I'd love to see it to compare it to what I saw last night. I just went to their website and looked at the winner of the Funniest Video and it does not have a trail or anything designating Move On. Unfortunately, their site is bogged down and I can't access any more videos at the moment.
Thanks

3. I know, I saw the video on TV as well |
|
I rated about 120 of the Moveon.org submissions, and I saw several of them that had a reference to MoveOn.org in the last couple of frames just like the one shown on Scabbrow last night.
I wondered why the creator of the spot would put that on, unless they were leaving space in their timing to insure that a credit to moveon could be part of the total 30 seconds.
The link is Moveon.org bushin30seconds, but they only have the finalists on there now, and I don't know how to get to the archive of the submissions.

most people would have never seen any of those ads until they started talking about those hilter ads. I wonder how much their traffic went up in general after that.

5. Wait A Minute Here - Watch How That Is Phrased |
|
The damned right wing press has been tagging this as an advertisement from Move On likening Bush to Hitler. It was no such thing. Move On had a contest, they let the public view the entrys and vote for a winner, they did not make the ads and they did not direct the subject matter of the ads they received. What they did do is review the ads over time and pulled the Hitler/Bush ads when they found them unacceptable. That is a far cry from the impression that the media is giving, that Move On is some sort of radical left wing hate group, and I resent the hell out of it.
