CNN Poll: Dems on Domestic, Repubs on Foreign
http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/01/13/elec04.poll.bush.issues/index.html
The poll showed that though most Americans give the edge to the Democratic Party on domestic issues, the Republican Party retains an advantage on security issues and world affairs, and Bush gets credit for that.

Nearly 50 percent preferred the Democrats on issues such as the budget deficit, the economy and taxes.

But on issues such as terrorism, the Iraq war, world affairs and gun policy, those interviewed gave the nod to the Republicans.

3. Here's the reason:
The average American (see "idiot" in Webster's) believes that the tougher you sound, the tougher you are. Look at "heroes" today: action movie stars, sports celebrities, etc. Since the GOP talks "tougher" than Dems, they must be better on "action" issues. This is reason the Gropenfuhrer won in CA.

This is main reason, IMO, why Clark (with all his faults, like being FOR an anti-flag-burning amendment) is our best bet against *.

4. A CNN poll and you are surprised they think Bush walks on water
in foreign affairs despite the 24/7 CNN propaganda telling you Bush walks on water regarding foreign policy? Who'd a thunk it?

5. This is good news for the Democrats...
Edited on Wed Jan-14-04 09:50 AM by uberotto
What are the issues that the voters care about the most...

http://www.greenbergresearch.com/campaigns_us/whats_new.html

The economy and jobs ..........................51 Dem
Terrorism and national security ...............28 Rep
Affordable health care ........................22 Dem
Education .....................................21 Dem
Social Security and Medicare ..................19 Dem
Moral values ..................................17 Rep
The situation in Iraq..........................14 Rep
Taxes...........................................9 Dem
The Federal Deficit ............................8 Dem
The environment/Pollution/Global Warming .......5 Dem
(None)..........................................1
(Don't know/Refused)............................1

So the three issues that the Repubs are seen as strong on are
also key areas of weakness for Bush.

Best news is that Dems have picked up support in being strong
on Economic policy.
