Question about the Rowalnd situaton (CT.)

Those of you in the Tri-State or New England area may be able to help. How many votes are required to impeach, convict and remove the governor from office? Where is public sentiment in CT right now? Do Democrats have the votes? Unfortunately, the Reuters story on Rowald covers none of this, and instead revists the Clinton impeachment, as somehow relevant to the Rowland case.

1. I am in the NYC area and know the issue pretty well
But I dod not know what is required for impeachment.,

I doubt Rowland will go without a fight. His lieutenant governor (Rell) is pretty unknown and Rowland is very close to Bush and his henchmen.

The scandals will ultimately overwhelm him though because the voters in Connecticut are sick of him.

Plus there is now an ethics assessment that what he did was illegal and the feds and fbi have seized his records and have a serious investigation finally.

The state scandals ultimately will bring him down.

There are shady ties to both Enron AND Carlyle not mention some pretty dirty land deals and Native gambling crookedness that hasn't even come out yet.

Rowland was investing in lands around the Reservations which may be subject to land claims (meaning he was possibly trying to make a profit by settling land claims for gaming interests backing tribes according to some in the know).

But he is a damn good criminal IMHO and will fight until he is indicted or close to it. Since his capos are all close to Bush and there is no other crime family head to come in and take over, they will hold on like pitbulls til they are dragged out for the perp walk
or in order to avoid the perp walk.

The feds investigating, though, are Bushies and the new state chief prosecutor (one of the skakel prosecutors) MIGHT have the courage to nail him, altho he is from an old political family deep in it.

Rowland will go before an impeachment, IMHO. He will be indicted.
