Michael Moore interview "removed" from Nebraska PTV ?? |
|
I was watching Charlie Rose last night, and just before the Michael Moore interview, there was a nasty 'cut' and they switched to (what I assume was a) rerun of an interview with a different guest. After the show (no apologies, no nothing), I switched to Iowa PTV and saw the show as it was intended to be.
What's up with that? Is PTV actually sensoring here??

1. Was also removed by Midland Texas KOCV A PBS station |
|
They didn't even air the Charlie Rose program.
Tonight Charlie Rose and U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow will be on, they'll show that one I bet! I'm pissed!!
I will call KOCV today and tell 'em to stick it and forget about a donation.

2. Or am I just getting paranoid? |

NETV's official reply just came in:
----
You are correct that the Charlie Rose show had one portion from a previous episode. This was unintentional but could not be avoided. To make a long story short., the satellite feed from New York to Washington DC failed halfway through. Rather than not provide a program, PBS edited an interview from the previous night.
Later that evening, a full program was uplinked from New York to Washington and stations that broadcast Charlie Rose in the later evening hours had the full show. No doubt this is why Iowa had the complete version of the program.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but it was simply a matter of technical difficulties getting the better of us.
----
There was one hour between the cut on NETV and the lost segment on IPTV. I don't know. It sounds a bit awkward to me. Do they not get these feeds well ahead of time?
Anyway, this is the official answer, so I'll leave it at that.
