I say Skinner took the primary board down on purpose!
Good for him. Nothing but internecine sniping in there, and I'm about as sick of it as Skinner is. Enough is enough.

1. I agree. I think we need to keep in mind that whoever wins .....
in the primaries is going to be our candidate for getting bush out of office. Folks who trash any of the Democratic candidates are clearly helping the bush election effort and weakening our effort to win in November.

8. No, he said, "something happened"
If that something involved clicking an on/off switch, then it's still something.

24. Skinner has not been shy about what he wants from this board.
if he wanted to give everyone a 'time out' by shutting down the GDprime board, i bet he'd just do it and tell us he did it.

6. on purpose?
Do you think Skinner would want to curtail discussion in the days leading up to the big Iowa caucus when all the talk would be anti-Dean?

9. No one at DU has endorsed a candidate.
I am merely making the point that all of the negative talk in that forum was counter-productive, to say the least.

That board was truly a minefield of unbridled hatred.

11. No doubt about it.
If you read Skinner's comments on the 'Ask the Admins", you will see that he quite obviously did it on purpose and no, he's not trying THAT hard to hide the fact. He wants us to know...sort of.

19. Actually it's a private site
and that fact is very clear when you sign up here.

Skinner makes the rules, he says what's fair, it's lot's of fun to have him there....

(Sorry, Joni Mitchell)

20. It's his site and can do what he wants with it
I think he rules with a very soft hand considering some of the more rabid animals that saunter in here at times.

With nearly 40,000 members it must be difficult at times.

In the meantime, please consider going to do something useful for your candidate of choice, rather than flaming on an Internet message board

23. As I recall,...
...there is supposed to be this major event happening in Iowa on Monday. Something about Democrats getting together to pick a candidate to go after George W. Bush. Maybe we should focus our attention there.

26. I agree
the anger on the site was juvinile at best. If we all do some constructive writting and calling, or work on a Dem committee, we coould really help. So join and volunteer, this is where we need to put our energy. We are lost if we don't.

25. The Term "Whoops" & A Comment About "Time Out"
had me thinking Skinner must have felt like a parent with a parcel of unruly preschoolers.

God Bless Him!

It's an amazing thing that he and the other fellows met and created this site... right men at the right time at the right place.

Once in a Blue Moon it CAN HAPPEN! That's why I never get too pessimistic about Amercia's future.

Oh well... There was little constructive going on there... It was becoming too difficult to enforce the mass of rules consistently and objectively... Sounds good to me.
