Who Really wants "Special Rights"?

That is the meme from the right. Gays want "Special Rights". IMHO it is the Christian Homophobes that want "Special Rights". They want exclusive rights only to them while denying those same rights to people that are a bit different. It seems a common practice for them to accuse the left of any dastardly deed they participate in and we sit back complacently and let them get away with it. They accuse us of wanting "Special Rights" but in reality it is them that wants "Special Rights" only available to them.

They want gays (and others that they find "morally reprehensible") marginalized and outcast from the society that they want. Because gays have been pushed aside for so long now, and most people in this country have been brought up to believe that there is something "wrong" with them, it is easy for the Religious Right to claim that they want rights that supercede everyone else's.
