"The Big O" .

I guess you can't say to a president..I have a name and it's not balloonfoot or Pablo. Please use my given name.

The title of president must be so powerfull that all self respect goes out the window and they become servants at the masters feet. Pathetic!

1. Giving people arbitrary nicknames is a form of bullying.

It implies that I am the one in control because I can name you.

Unless you are my freind ...you damn well better call me by my name.

3. Yep - and I will bet that Cheney doesn't have a nickname.
I have always thought it was very disrespectful for Bush to give a grown man a nickname. What do you think he calls Tony Blair? Poodle?

6. I Agree
It's really demeaning.

The press gushed in 2000 about their nicknames.

Wonder if they're still gushing?

8. Candy Crowley loves hers
Dulce. Maybe "Blimpie" would have been just as appropriate.

2. Not the title of President that's the issue here, the title of Emperor
And no, one does not tell the Imperial We what it can call you.

Totalitarian Bootlickers is the problem here...they are notoriously lacking in backbone.

You might as well have asked Molotov to stand up to Stalin.

Same thing, except for the violence of the Stalinresponse versus the nonviolent yet equally punishing response of the Busheviks.

5. What A Freak
I've known bosses who do this to women, but never men - The women never liked it and I'm sure men abhor it possibly even more.

7. reminds me of Seinfeld where George's boss Krueger nicknamed him Coco.....
george wanted to be "t-bone" but they named him Coco instead, as in coco the chimp.
krueger was also a very disengaged boss....all this stuff out of o'neill's book reminds me very much of krueger.

9. Andy CARD Ought to be Called "Cheeseburger" Henceforth
DUers knowledgeable of CARD have posted here that he has "integrity." Well, I submit, paraphrasing GOLDWATER, that integrity in the service of villany is NO virtue. So, since O'NEILL reports that Shrub ordered CARD to get the cheeseburgers delivered toute suite, CARD ought to be called "Cheeseburger".
