harrassed, spied on, threw in jail and attacked as Communist agitators, racebaiters, criminals, un-American, degenerates, divisive, and dangerous - when they weren't ignoring them altogether.

I am so sick of Republicans trashing our heroes in their lifetimes and then co-opting their memories and legacies after they're gone. Dr. King, FDR, JFK, Thurgood Marshall, Bobby Kennedy - and on and on.

I understand that they don't have any real heroes of their own to trot out, but damn! This is ridiculous.
