I'm certain that my query is rude-
But has anyone ever compared the list of 9/11 victims to a list of registered Democrats and Liberals (political affiliations). It just irritates the hell out of me to hear Rush and Sean and the Gestapo propaganda machine bash liberals when (given NYC's political tendencies) there were cerrtainly thousands of us killed on that day. How can they smear the memories of those who would staunchly disagree with their deaths being used to promote a far right wing, imperialist policy?

1. Right, it's insane how they try to claim the tragedy as "theirs".
Simply sickening

2. don't you remember??
Robertson and Falwell said 9-11 was punishment for liberals taking over America

I actually heard one religious right person say that the people who died deserved to die

and Newsweek had a report that Rove and Hughes wanted to have a second memorial because the first - on all the networks and most cable channels - was 'too NY and east coast'

I remember wondering how long the initial outpouring of caring and concern would be yanked back to the suspicion and mistrust of 'liberal New Yorkers'

3. We will never know how many of the dead were people without papers

Most are not counted in the "official" toll, they were not working under their real names, you can bet there are people in Mexico and Central America who to this day do not know what happened to their loved one. Most of those families did not come forward, they could not afford to take the chance. The "offers" made by the migra were gestures for PR purposes, not anything that would help someone working to support their family, who could not afford even a few days lost work and passage back.

There were also a good chunk of foreign nationals with papers in the WTC that day.
